What happens when a break ends?

Your apps lock again and you get a "Break's over" notification. Here's how the block's time is affected.

When a break ends, your apps lock again and you get a Break's over notification.

What happens to the block's time

  • Quick Block: the timer pauses during your break and carries on afterwards. A 30-minute block with a 5-minute break finishes 5 minutes later than it would have.

  • Focus Session: the end time doesn't move. A session that ends at 5pm still ends at 5pm, so a break uses up part of the session.

If your apps didn't lock again

Now and then, iPhone runs our blocking code a little late, so the apps stay open after the break. Sorry when that happens.

  1. Open Slow Time Club, or tap the Break's over notification. Your block goes back up straight away.

  2. Keep notifications on so the reminder reaches you: Settings → Notifications → Slow Time Club → Allow Notifications.

If it keeps happening, see My break ended but apps didn't lock again.
